Welcome to this tiny BLOG part of our otherwise smart website that we put up laboriously.

For time immemorial, we all have used honey for eating (or drinking). What used to come from the neighbourhood street-side honey-seller now comes in shiny glass bottles with colourful packings. The funny part is that we are thankful to these brands today to make this super-food available to us in convenience stores but had never showed any gratitude to those ragged street vendors.

We also know that these honeys come to us after a long line of processes; but those street vendors had to just pluck it from a nearby (unwanted) honeycomb. But we fail to address the central question here – what about the content and quality of product that was then, and is now being served to us?

Yes, my friend, THAT is the catch. Most of the honey bottles that you buy from the supermarket shelf is not the honey that you think is a Superfood. It is, what in most European markets called, FUNNY HONEY – which means processed honey that does not have the nutrients and benefits of the real honey.

We all know that honey is good for health, provided we consume the real honey. And that is where this product RAW HONEY comes into picture. Raw Honey is some of India’s concerned (and honest) beekeepers’ response to the funny honey being sold in the markets nowadays. A lot of beekeepers have now started to sell their pure honey product directly to the consumers so that they can enjoy the actual taste and benefits of this superfood. Most of these beekeepers can do so just in their locality and do not have an organized way to reach to broader consumers.

Our company, The West Indian Honey Company, bridges this gap and makes the raw honey available to all of you in the retail stores, and more importantly on the internet. Now that we are completing the much touted 1000 days in business, I thought of doing this little part to connect with more of our clients, and the beekeeping community at large.

I can squeeze in only this much in this 1st attempt to connect with you all. But promise to bring you more useful content soon.
